discovered the gene that makes the red apple

The Scientists have tracked down and deciphered the DNA code that's responsible for making this bright red apple, a discovery which they say will lead to healthier fruit and colorata.Un international team, led by the 'University of Auckland in New Zealand, has played a research that has analyzed a gene called anthocyanin which actually controls the production of red pigment in the apple pulp.
Anthocyanins are pigments produced by plants in colors ranging from red to purple and blue. In addition to making it more attractive fruit, these anthocyanins are potent antioxidants and there is growing evidence that they have beneficial effects on health. For farmers, the discovery of apples can be interesting, the objective would be to create tasty fruit color attractive: while the red apple is more attractive than the yellow one has a superior taste, the intent is to exploit the attractiveness of the taste of 'other and create the right mix. Just as the discovery may give way to the breeding of new apple, it could do to other types of fruits and field crops, all in the face of organic farming. Long live the genetic manipulation!
